Wanting Qu wurde am 10. Oktober 1983 in Harbin als erstes und einziges Kind von Qu Heng und Qu Zhang Mingjie geboren.cite-ref-1[1] Im Alter von 16 Jahren zog sie nach Toronto, um am Seneca College zu studieren und mit dem Musizieren anzufangen.cite-ref-2[2] Momentan lebt sie in Vancouver.
